At Monumental Pest Control, we believe being a local business means more than simply serving the homes and businesses in our community. It means being part of the community itself. Northern Virginia is home to so many families, organizations, schools, teams, and nonprofits doing meaningful work, and we believe local businesses have a responsibility to support the people and causes that make our area such a great place to live.
That is why we are proud to support the Hunter’s Heroes Fund, an initiative connected with Loudoun Soccer that helps young players in the organization’s Financial Assistance program get the soccer equipment they need to participate in the sport they love.
For us, supporting a cause like this is about more than soccer. It is about making sure financial circumstances do not prevent a child from being part of a team, developing their skills, making friends, and experiencing all of the positive things that youth sports can provide.
What Is the Hunter’s Heroes Fund?
The Hunter’s Heroes Fund was created in memory of Hunter Bohnenblust, a Loudoun Soccer Challenge player remembered for his kindness, compassion, and ability to lift up the people around him. The fund was established at the request of Hunter’s family to provide additional support to players participating in Loudoun Soccer’s Financial Assistance program.
The idea behind the fund is simple but incredibly meaningful: help make sure young players have access to the basic equipment they need to play.
Soccer may look like a relatively simple sport when you are watching from the sidelines. A ball, a field, a team, and a pair of cleats may seem like all a player needs. But for families already facing financial challenges, the cost of participating in competitive youth sports can add up quickly.
Cleats, shin guards, uniforms, apparel, and other necessary equipment are expenses that can become barriers for families. Hunter’s Heroes helps remove some of those barriers.
Each season, the fund provides gift cards to players in Loudoun Soccer’s Financial Assistance program who participate in the Challenge program. These gift cards can be used toward soccer necessities such as cleats, shin guards, and apparel. According to Loudoun Soccer, the first disbursement in Spring 2026 provided gift cards to more than 50 players.
That is a direct and tangible way to make a difference.
Why Youth Sports Matter
We believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover something they enjoy and be part of a team.
Youth soccer can provide much more than exercise. It can teach young athletes how to communicate, work together, handle challenges, stay committed, and celebrate the accomplishments of their teammates. It gives kids an opportunity to build confidence while learning how to be part of something bigger than themselves.
For some players, soccer may become a lifelong passion. For others, it may simply be the place where they meet their best friends or discover that they are capable of doing something they once thought was difficult.
Those experiences matter.
Financial circumstances should not determine which children get to have them.
That is one of the reasons the work of the Hunter’s Heroes Fund stands out to us at Monumental Pest Control. It focuses on a very practical need while supporting something much bigger: giving young athletes the opportunity to show up, participate, and feel like they belong.
Keeping Hunter’s Legacy of Kindness Alive
One of the most meaningful parts of the Hunter’s Heroes Fund is the connection to Hunter’s own character.
According to Loudoun Soccer, Hunter was known for his kind and compassionate nature and for bringing joy to the people around him. The organization also presents a Hunter’s Heroes Award each spring and fall to a Challenge player who demonstrates that same spirit of empathy, inclusion, and lifting others up, both on and off the field.
We think that is a powerful legacy.
There are plenty of ways to remember someone, but creating opportunities for other young people is a particularly special one. Instead of simply looking back, Hunter’s legacy is helping create positive experiences for the next generation of athletes.
Every pair of cleats purchased through the fund, every player who can step onto the field with confidence, and every young athlete who gets to experience another season is another small reminder of the kindness Hunter represented.
Why Community Support Matters to Monumental Pest Control
As a local pest control company serving Northern Virginia, we know that our relationship with the community goes beyond the services we provide.
When a homeowner calls us about ants, termites, rodents, wildlife, mosquitoes, or another pest issue, they are trusting us to take care of a problem affecting their home or business. We take that responsibility seriously.
But being a local company also gives us an opportunity to contribute outside of our day-to-day work.
We are proud to support organizations and initiatives that are making a difference for local families. Supporting Hunter’s Heroes is one way we can contribute to the community we are fortunate enough to serve.
We believe local businesses should be invested in the places where their customers, employees, friends, and families live. Whether that means supporting youth programs, nonprofits, community events, or other local causes, giving back helps create stronger communities for everyone.
Small Contributions Can Make a Big Difference
One of the things we appreciate most about Hunter’s Heroes is that the fund addresses a specific need.
Sometimes when people think about charitable giving, they imagine large projects or major donations. But community impact does not always have to be complicated.
Something as straightforward as helping a young player purchase a pair of cleats can make a difference.
For a child who has been looking forward to the upcoming season, having the proper equipment means they can focus on what they are there to do: play.
They can practice with their teammates. They can compete on game day. They can learn from their coaches. They can make memories with friends.
And perhaps most importantly, they can feel included.
That is why programs like this deserve attention and support. The impact may begin with equipment, but the benefits can reach much further.
Supporting the Next Generation of Loudoun County
Loudoun County is a community filled with families, and youth sports are an important part of life for many of those families. From soccer fields to baseball diamonds, basketball courts, and beyond, young athletes are constantly learning and growing through sports.
We want to see those opportunities remain accessible.
At Monumental Pest Control, we are proud to call Northern Virginia home, and supporting organizations that invest in local children is one of the ways we can show that commitment.
The Hunter’s Heroes Fund is doing something that we believe is worth celebrating: taking Hunter’s spirit of kindness and turning it into opportunities for other young people.
That is a legacy that can continue to grow with every season.
How You Can Support Hunter’s Heroes
If you are a Loudoun County family, soccer fan, local business, or simply someone who believes every child should have the opportunity to participate in youth sports, consider learning more about the Hunter’s Heroes Fund and how you can support its mission.
Loudoun Soccer provides information about the fund and its ongoing efforts to support players in its Financial Assistance program. Donations help carry forward Hunter’s legacy and provide equipment assistance to young athletes who need it.
At Monumental Pest Control, we are honored to play a small part in supporting this effort.
Our work may focus on protecting homes and businesses from unwanted pests, but our connection to the community goes beyond pest control. We want to be a company that our neighbors can count on not only when they need help with their home, but also when there is an opportunity to make a positive difference in the community.
The Hunter’s Heroes Fund is a wonderful example of what can happen when people come together around a simple idea: every child deserves the chance to participate.
We are proud to support that idea and the young athletes who benefit from it.
Here’s to Hunter’s legacy, the families who make Loudoun County such a special place, and the young players who will continue taking the field season after season. We are proud to support Hunter’s Heroes and look forward to seeing the positive impact this fund continues to make in our community.
